90 Days to go...

This morning i woke up early, because last night I was completely aware that it was ninety-one days to go....I had been waiting for this day since so long...I got fresh early, finished my breakfast and then took out my laptop, conneted it to the internet and waited eagerly until it was 8am...

Seconds seemed like minutes, minutes seemed like hours...

I waited really long...

When there were only few minutes to 8... I opened the webpage of my interest and kept refreshing it continuously...

Those who live far away form where they study must be getting where this is going...

Yes, correct! It was the IRCTC website and I was eagerly waiting to book my e-ticket and get a confirmed ticket to home for Diwali... The date of the ticket was 14th October, 2009. Exactly 90 days from today.

At 8, the status which I saw was 166 available, some seconds of delay caused only 166 seats to be available. I quickly clicked on the Book ticked, quickly entered the name of six of us who were to travel on that ticket, selected the payment option of using a debit card, made the payment...

The 'processing' icon kept revolving... Precious seconds were passing by... my heart beats were rising... Still revolving... Still on... “Your payment is being made“ ... All the six of us were staring at the revolving circle...keeping our fingers crosssed... our breath 5 times faster than usual...

This was the kind of excitement during this period...while all this happened... I kept praying that we get confirmed berths... Same time I also wondered how fast the world had become... Seconds of delay meant faliure... in the form of waiting list tickets!

Suddenly the screen changed, it captured all our attention, this This was the “Payment successful” page. We scrolled down eagerly... down and down...

Alas! We had lost...we were in the waiting list... :(

We got the waiting 27-32 tickets... There had been a big delay of more than a few split seconds!

We all were heart-broken, divastated, disgraced, frustated and lost. All our hopes were shattered like broken glass...

The government has made the wonderful facility of booking the tickets 90 days earlier thinking that would help a lot... but the situation still remains the same...

With evergrowing population the situation it will keep getting worse...

Hope we get confirmed tickets till 14th October... although there is a very little chance as it is the festive season... But being optimistic is all we can do now...

Next year each of us will be armed with our laptops, all the six of us and fire our clicks with full one year training and practice so that it is impossible to beat us ...

A hope still recides in one corner of my heart, that we will one day get confirmed tickets in the Diwali season !!!

  1. That is some ordeal! Hopefully, Mamata Didi's new trains will help you get better tickets next year...or the buses will get faster.

  2. Yes Piyush (better Pintya), delay of few seconds sometimes makes life so hard that all our efforts goes in vain.
So better wake up early in morning... Got it....

    just kidding .....
